Continued hiatus

I am extremely disconsolate over the fact that now, well over two months since the injury to my back (Dec. 3) that necessitated my layoff from running, I am almost unchanged in regards to improvement, and don't know when I'll be able to resume running, frankly. This is particularly disconcerting because I have a regular rotation of races that I like to run each year, and in recent years I've added the Shamrocks & Shenanigans 5K in downtown Ann Arbor on the Sunday before St. Patrick's Day. Unless a miraculous healing occurs in this very near future, though, I will not be able to do it this year. And even if I could somehow do the race, with my long suspension in recent weeks, I would be very, very slow. But I'd certainly be willing to accept that if only I could run it somehow.
